Admissions FAQs

Uniforms are not required at Mount Zion, but we do have a dress code that is meant to support our MZ WAYS of love, responsibility, and excellence. The emphasis is on modesty, student safety, and independence in the younger years and on modesty and presentation for older students.

We welcome Christian families from all denominations. Our Statements of Faith will help you determine whether we are a right fit for your family. We currently have more than 40 denominations represented in our student body.

Statement of Faith #1: We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament, to be the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God written.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; Luke 24:44; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21

Statement of Faith #2: We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1-3; John 1:1-3; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Colossians 1:15-20; John 15:26-27; Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 10:29-30

Statement of Faith #3: We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

Mark 14:61-62; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:16-25; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:21; 1 Peter 3:18; Luke 22:69; Luke 24:50-51; 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; John 2:23

Statement of Faith #4: We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. Salvation is by grace alone through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His death for man's sin and His resurrection, and His promised eternal life.

Titus 3:5; John 3:5-8; Ephesians 2:4-9; Romans 10:9-10; John 1:12; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; John 3:36; Ephesians 1:1-14

Statement of Faith #5: We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling power and fullness the Christian is enabled to live a godly life in this present evil world. The evidence of the Holy Spirit's ministry is His grace, His fruit, and His gifts.

John 14:26; Titus 3:4-7; Galatians 5:22-26; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; Acts 2:38

Statement of Faith #6: We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of the living and they are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

John 14:3; John 5:28-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:20-24; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:15

Statements of Faith #7: We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ.

Psalm 133; Revelation 7:9; Ephesians 4:11-16; Ephesians 4:1-6; John 17:20-23

Statements of Faith #8: We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, and that these two distinct complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.

Genesis 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 11:11-12; Ephesians 5:31-33

Statements of Faith #9: We believe that God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman and that intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that union.

Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 19:4-6; 1 Corinthians 6:15 - 17; 1 Corinthians 7:2; Hebrews 13:4

Statements of Faith #10: We believe in the sanctity of human life and that life begins at conception. We believe that every human life has intrinsic value and is created in the image of God.

Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:13-16; Luke 1:41-44; Acts 17:24-28

Mount Zion is a community where students are encouraged to pursue God as imperfect individuals. Each individual will be given the space to grapple with the Scriptures while following the standards outlined in the CommUNITY Handbook.

Please see our CommUNITY Handbook for updated supply lists:

22/23 CommUNITY Handbook

Safety and respect are priorities at Mount Zion:

  • Masks are optional for students and teachers in most circumstances (some examples of where/when we would wear masks: office workers who are interacting with a student displaying symptoms will wear a mask and ask the student to mask up if there is a temperature at or above 100.4; etc).
  • Vaccinations are not required for staff or students.
  • We offer hand wipes and sanitizing stations as students enter the building with regular reminders for students to wash their hands well and often.
Students and teachers will also be wiping down classrooms, door handles, and common-use items (think electric pencil sharpeners, shared computers, etc) often and when changing/switching classes. We will have designated spaces in the building to support students who become sick during the school day and need to go home. These students will be asked to wear a mask and remain in that designated area until they have left the building so that we can protect other students and staff.

More than anything, we know we need to continue to remain flexible as a community. If we have learned anything from the past 2 years, it’s that things can change rapidly. We must be agile and adaptable while holding tightly to our MZ WAYS statement, “We have love for one another and our school.”

There is a 5% discount on the tuition of a second child and a 10% discount for each additional child from the same family. The oldest child will be charged full price.

Also, we have a 3% discount if tuition is paid in full by May 31st prior to the upcoming school year. Ask about discounts for qualifying families whose primary income is established in pastoring a church full-time.

As a private school, we have the ability to select curriculum based on the needs of our students and the best research available. Therefore, our curriculum varies based on subject and grade level. We faithfully reflect on and revise our curriculum choices to provide the very best and most sound instruction for our students, while keeping abreast of the latest advancements in science and technology.

Our teachers are trained in the best pedagogy as well as helping your child with their spiritual transformation. We practice expeditionary learning, where we focus on real work for real people to meet a real need.
